Make-A-Wish America Wins Big Thanks to Austin Hardware's 8th Annual Charity Football Pool

With football season coming to its conclusion on Sunday, we want to share the results of our 8th Annual Austin Hardware® Charity Football Pool.
This year’s contest went 12 weeks into the 2023-24 season. The player who outlasted the competition this year is David Famula from Germany.
David beat out our runner-up, Robert Carmer, on the Monday night of week #12 when the Chicago Bears upset Robert's pick, the Minnesota Vikings, on Minnesota's home field. This result gave David the victory, as he had already gotten a Week #12 victory when the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Arizona Cardinals that Sunday afternoon.

Austin Hardware® has conducted the Charity Football Pool in eight of the last nine years (pausing in 2020). The pool fosters engagement with customers, suppliers, and the community through friendly competition. Most importantly, a worthy charity chosen by our winner is presented with a much-needed donation.
The pool plays out in the popular "eliminator" format. If you’re unfamiliar with this type of pool, players attempt to correctly pick the winner of only one game each week. While the concept is simple and seems easy, the catch is that participants can only pick each team ONCE during the season, and if their pick loses in any week, they are eliminated.
The pool winner has a donation made in their name to one, or a combination, of these charities:
- Alzheimer's Foundation of America
- Boys & Girls Clubs of America
- Folds of Honor
- Humane Society of the United States
- Make-A-Wish America
- Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
- Susan G. Komen
- United Way
- Wounded Warrior Project
